Cadet College Okara was established by Government of the Punjab under Punjab Government Educational and Training Institutions Ordinance 1960 (amended upto 2002) and notified vide School Education Department Lahore Notification No.SO(P)8–2/2008. Now it is functioning since April 2011 under Government of the Punjab.

Cadet College Okara is peculiar natured residential educational institution which aim to prepare young students from a very broad range of socioeconomic and linguistic backgrounds to meet the demanding physical, educational, psychological and behavioral standards of present era. We emphasis also laid on to produce a well-rounded personality, built around the core values of character, integrity and intellectual superiority.

The College is spread over an area of 204 acres. This includes a huge Academic Block that stands at a higher level, overlooking the four wings or hostels that are lying behind it, on a slanting slope, namely, Jinnah, Iqbal, Sikandar and Johar Hall. On the far end of Academics Block, lies the Jamia Masjid and just beside it is the College mess and Hostels in a boundary wall. There is a College cafeteria, control Room and dispensary just behind the mess. The College has big playing fields and games played on these grounds include cricket, hockey, football, basketball, volleyball. Furthermore, horse riding is a convention in CCO that is held almost throughout the year.
